OUR HISTORY

Originally a church plant from Mirror Lake Christian Church, Bay Point Christian Church has gone through many evolutions as a body in the past 64 years.

What started off as a small group of believers on the “South Side” of Saint Pete, Bay Point was at one point a drive-in church, where congregants would come park their cars and hook into a speaker system as the pastor spoke from a band shell.

In the 1970s, former pastor Paul Stake transferred from the Presbyterian church and began a building campaign that would enclose the band shell to create a sanctuary, add on Ross Hall, and establish our affiliate day care, "Angels at Play."

In the year 2000, Jay Cave came to Bay Point and began the task of helping the church integrate with a rapidly diversifying community of believers. Randall Hildreth stepped up from associate pastor into the role of head pastor of Bay Point July of 2015.
